FAQS about Parking at SDSU
What is the revenue for parking used for?
The law requires that parking revenue go back into parking. For example, the revenue pays for maintenance, parking staff salaries, remaining bond debt and maintaining a required reserve.
If the revenue is required for parking where is the permit increase going?
We were able to use this revenue to implement our new Aztec Parking Portal, which allows our campus to purchase permits online 24/7 for day, week, month and semester use. Additionally, we are currently working to upgrade the lighting in our parking lots and roadways, doing much needed repairs in our structures and resurfacing roadways.
What are you doing to improve parking on campus?
We are researching parking technology to find ways to improve the parking experience. Currently, we have parking available every day on campus. Should you find the structure you like to park in is full, we recommend parking east of College Ave.
